Professor: An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. in the relevant, allied, or related discipline and a strong record of research and publication. The candidate must have a minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 120, as per the criteria in Appendix II, Table 2 (refer to UGC Regulations-2018, as amended). Additionally, the candidate must have at least ten years of teaching experience at the university or college level as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, or equivalent research experience at national institutions, with evidence of successfully guiding doctoral candidates. OR An outstanding professional with a Ph.D. in the relevant, allied, or applied disciplines from any academic institution (not included in the above category) or industry, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the relevant discipline, supported by documentary evidence, and has ten years of experience.

Associate Professor: A strong academic record, including a Ph.D. in the relevant, allied, or related disciplines.
A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade if a grading system is used).
A minimum of eight years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic or research position equivalent to that of an Assistant Professor at a university, college, or accredited research institution/industry. The candidate must have at least seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 75, as per the criteria in Appendix II, Table 2 (refer to UGC Regulations-2018, as amended).

Assistant Professor: A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade if a point-scale grading system is used) in the relevant, allied, or related subject from an Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

In addition to the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, such as SLET/SET. Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments are exempt from NET/SLET/SET.

For candidates registered for the Ph.D. program prior to July 11, 2009, they are exempt from NET/SLET/SET for the recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in universities, colleges, and institutions, provided they meet the following conditions:

The Ph.D. degree was awarded in regular mode.
The Ph.D. thesis was evaluated by at least two external examiners.
An open Ph.D. viva voce was conducted.
The candidate has published two research papers from their Ph.D. work, with at least one paper in a refereed journal.

The candidate has presented at least two papers based on their Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored, funded, or supported by the UGC, ICSSR, CSIR, or any similar agency.
If the Ph.D. degree was obtained from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 in the World University Ranking by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higher Education (THE), or the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai), the candidate is also exempt from NET/SLET/SET.

Assistant Librarian: A Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, Documentation Science, or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade if a point-scale grading system is used).

A consistently good academic record, with knowledge of library computerization.

In addition to the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, such as SLET/SET. Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments are exempt from NET/SLET/SET.
